After finishing my bachelor's degree in 2008, I spent four years working abroad and travelling independently around the world. When I returned to Canada and moved to a small town in British Columbia, I began a retrospective travel blog called "Small-Town GlobeTrotter" to write about my adventures and gain hands-on experience with WordPress, website design, web traffic analysis, and social media marketing. A year later, I returned to big-city life and continued running the blog for a few years under the name "S-T GlobeTrotter." I wrote all of the content myself and mostly featured my own photos (with only a few specified exceptions).
My blog received thousands of views and gained a multitude of followers on social media. In early 2015, it even caught the attention of content marketing agency CopyPress, which recruited me to write sponsored posts as a blogger ambassador for Hipmunk's City Love Project.
